Since 1945, Rhinehart Development has been at the forefront of innovation, creating quality farm equipment and farm-related products for customers globally. Originating in Fort Wayne, Indiana, John R. Rhinehart began his business with one simple idea: a calf feeder pail, an efficient and functional way to feed calves. With a genius idea and innovative product, he created Calf-Teria Inc. to manufacture his patented calf-feeder pail for farmers across the country. Little did Rhinehart know that what began as a humble vision would transform into a nationwide phenomenon.
Rhinehart’s pail became so popular that high sales led to an expanded line of products of farm equipment, including dehorners, calf feeders, feeder nipples and other small farm-related items, all under the Rhinehart name. With such success, John R. Rhinehart decided a name change was in order to encompass all products under one entity: Rhinehart Development Corporation.
A devastating fire in 1980 led to the loss of the Rhinehart family manufacturing facility, but what rose from the ashes was something better: A new 30,000-square-foot building with room to expand its offerings from farm-related fabrication to the commercial building industry, offering high-quality fabrication and metal stamping. In 1986, Rhinehart began making parts and components for many government prime contractors, further solidifying its niche in the marketplace.
